Research into Biotechnology

April 8, 2000
at The Gleacher Center, Chicago, IL

Mission Statement:

We are pleased to invite you to participate in a symposium to address "Translation of Biomaterials Research into Biotechnology" at the Gleacher Center. This one day event is sponsored by the University of Chicago's Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC), Institute for Biophysical Dynamics (IBD), Physical Sciences Division (PSD), and Biological Sciences Division (BSD) and is part of an industrial relations series that regularly surveys recent advances in important areas of materials research.

This symposium will feature talks on a variety of biomaterials-related subjects by seven renowned scientists whose work defines the state-of-the-art in these forefront areas. A link to a scientific program for the meeting is below.

We believe this is a unique opportunity for students and scientists from academic, industrial, and government laboratories to review the rapid progress in these fields of biomaterials. We invite you to join us on this occassion. The symposium will be held in the Gleacher Center of the University's Business School located at 450 N. Cityfront Plaza; this address is essentially at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive along the Chicago River. There is a registration fee of $50 to be collected on site upon check-in ($25 for students): all attendees are asked to register through the link below.

We are excited to host this timely meeting and hope to see you in April.
