We are pleased to invite you to participate in a symposium to address "Computational Aspects of Materials Science" at Argonne National Laboratory. This two day event is co-sponsored by the University of Chicago's Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) and the Computation Institute (CI) and is part of an industrial relations series that regularly surveys recent advances in important areas of materials research. This symposium will feature talks on a variety of computational materials science subjects by seven renowned scientists whose work defines the state-of-the-art in these forefront areas. The meeting will begin with a reception on the 18th at 7:00-9:00 PM. A link to a scientific program for the meeting is below. Our ability to use computation to understand phenomena that are important in materials science is increasing at a rapid pace. This workshop will bring together leaders in this area who will report on recent progress on several fronts. The goal of this workshop is to have experts in the field of materials science present their work and give their vision on the use of large computations in materials science. The reception on Thursday, January 18 will be at the Argonne Guest House Bldg. 460. The workshop on Friday, January 19 will be held in Bldg. 221 Rooms 216 & 261. Click here for directions. The registration deadline has passed. Please call Stephanie Endy at (773) 834-3152 if you have any questions or would like to attend. We are excited to host this timely meeting and hope to see you in January. |
