MRSEC Support for Postdoctoral Fellows

Kadanoff-Rice Fellowship

The MRSEC offers these fellowships as a means of enhancing collaborative research at the MRSEC, and attracting the most capable postdocs to our program.  Candidates are nominated by a sponsoring MRSEC faculty member, who assembles and submits the needed documents.

This award is for a two-year period and carries a half stipend plus a $5000 travel budget.  The other half of the stipend is organized by the faculty sponsor.

The criteria for selection are (i) excellence in research and (ii) interdisciplinary research interests.  Priority is placed on attracting new postdocs to our campus and/or on those who bring a diverse perspective to the study of materials research.

Kadanoff-Rice fellows are chosen on the basis of the prospect for enhancing MRSEC's collaborative vitality as judged by:

•The faculty sponsor's nominating letter explaining how the candidate will advance these aims
•The candidate's Curriculum Vitae
•A statement from the candidate endorsing the collaboration proposed by the nominating faculty member
•Three letters of recommendation

Competition Schedule.  (For each cycle, up to 2 K-R Postdoctoral fellows will be selected)

Underrepresented minorities, women, individuals with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
