Measuring Electrical Properties

After a sample has been prepared the conductivity and resistivity can be measured with the instrument above. The graph at right shows the normalized magnetoresistance for Ag2+dSe as a function of magnetic field at a series of temperatures. (T=4.5, 30, 60, 90, 180, 270, and 300K). The small inset shows that the linear field dependence continues down to magnetic fields of a few Oersteds. The earth's magnetic field has a strength of approximately ½ Oersteds.
