8. Bromothymol blue
9. Ammonia

Materials (Day of)

• Agar cubes
• Clear container
• Vinegar
• Spoon
• Timers
• Paper plates

Students immerse agar cubes which have a ph indicator in vinegar. They see how diffusion occurs in objects of different sizes as the acidic vinegar penetrates the agar cube.
