MRSEC KRUSS Zoom Webinar: “Advance your Research with Contact Angle & Surface-Free Energy”

11:00 am–12:00 pm Zoom

Please join us for “Advance your Research with Contact Angle & Surface-Free Energy” – an online webinar hosted by the University of Chicago MRSEC in collaboration with KRÜSS, the worldwide market leader in surface science. The webinar will take place on March 30, 2022, at 11 am.

KRÜSS will be represented by Senior Scientist Dr. Raymond Sanedrin, who will offer an introduction to applications using contact angle measurement and surface free energy determination using the DSA100 Drop Shape Analyzer. Dr. Sanedrin will also offer a brief introduction into other measuring techniques possible with other KRÜSS Instrumentation.

The 45-minute webinar will include research presentations utilizing the DSA100 by graduate students from the University of Chicago MRSEC on:

"Contact Angle as a Probe for Interfacial Ice Melting" – Blake Hance from Steven Sibener's group in Chemistry

"Dynamical measurements of friction-like forces in sessile drops"- Chloe Lindeman from Sidney Nagel's group in Physics

"Surface Free Energy Determination for Designing New Block Copolymers in Nanolithography"- Christopher Eom from Paul Nealey's group in Molecular Engineering
