Public Outreach at the APS March Meeting: Squishy Science Sunday

A team of University of Chicago alumni & students organized and presented an interactive fluids demo at the 2024 APS March Meeting in Minneapolis as part of ”Squishy Science Sunday,” a public outreach event. The pattern-formation activity was originally developed by Irmgard Bischofberger (now an Associate Professor at MIT, 2nd from left) while a postdoc in the Nagel lab at the University of Chicago MRSEC.  Also pictured are former postdoc in the Gardel lab, Kim Weirich (Assistant Professor at Clemson University, left), current graduate student in the Nagel lab, Savannah Gowen (2nd from right), and former graduate student in the Nagel lab, Nidhi Pashine (currently an assistant professor at Syracuse University, right).
